Task Force Resurge

I’m building my own mobile command rig using off-grid communications, LoRa mesh networking, Raspberry Pi systems, and rugged field technology. This site documents the entire process — from planning to testing to real-world field use.

My Mission

Task Force Resurge is my personal project focused on creating a reliable off-grid communication platform for off-roading, disaster recovery concepts, and field exploration.

I’m documenting the full process; from the early ideas to the hardware setup to field testing so others can learn, explore, and build alongside me if they want to. This is my journey.

My Command Rig Build

This project is something I’ve wanted to create for years — a compact, vehicle-mounted off-grid communication rig built around LoRa mesh networking, Raspberry Pi systems, and rugged field tech.

Everything here is part of my personal build. I’m documenting each step so others can follow along, learn, and build their own setups if they want to.

RAM 1500 Big Horn DT

This Ram is the platform I’m converting into a full off-grid command rig.
It’s spacious, reliable, and perfectly suited for carrying the onboard network stack, antennas, and power systems needed for the build.

Current focus includes:

  • Modular mounting system for the Pi-based comms stack

  • LoRa gateway integration

  • Router + mesh network architecture

  • Power management for off-grid use

  • Ruggedized case setup for quick deployment

  • Antenna placement & range testing

This truck is the heart of the project my rolling testbed for comms, sensors, and future expansions.

Before starting the command rig build, I spent years modifying and off-roading this Jeep. It taught me everything about recovery gear, trail capability, electrical setups, and vehicle-based reliability all of which influence the rig I’m building now.

The Jeep represents:

  • My off-roading roots

  • Hands-on experience building capable vehicles

  • Lessons learned about reliability and field gear

  • A foundation for creating something more advanced with the Ram

While the Jeep isn’t the command rig, it’s a major part of the journey that got me here.
